Hockey is a great team sport to play. Here at St George Randwick Hockey Club in Kyeemagh we cater for all ages. Juniors starts from the age of 6yrs -16yrs. Hockey is not only fun and builds fitness, coordination, agility but life long friendships are made and that's just as important. For the juniors, children are organised into teams with consideration to both friendship groups and skill level.
St George Randwick plays as part of the South East Hockey Association ,SEHA, competition. Other clubs in the junior competition are UNSW in Daceyville, Bankstown, Moorebank, Glebe, Sutherland and the Sharks, Each of these teams have their own hockey fields and games are divided between the fields with the youngest players U9’s always playing first at 8am.
Junior games (u9, u11 u13 and u15) are played on a Saturday morning from 0800 through to midday. A few u15 games are played on a Friday night at 7pm but the majority are played on a Saturday morning. The u17 play on Friday nights at either 6.30pm or 8pm.
Please note - U9’s and U11’s play a modified game on half a field with a Joey ball to help develop skills and allow greater ball time for each player.

2023 training for all junior teams is the same as preseason training, on a Tuesday night.
U9’s, U11’s and U13’s train from 4.30-5.30pm
u15 and u17 train from 5.30-6.30pm.
2023 Junior Hockey season commences on Friday 31st March and runs through to September. Games are not played over Easter, long weekends or during school holidays. There is a Junior Club Presentation Day at the end of the season. This is a fun BBQ family day where awards and medals are given out and each of the players, coaches and club staff are thanked for their hard work.
The club's uniform consists of a club shirt $40 new, $29 used but in good condition, black shorts (kmart) and club socks $15. Additional equipment required are shin guards $25, a mouth guard $15 and of course a hockey stick. All of these items can be purchased from the club's canteen.
The club has plenty of second hand sticks in good condition which players can try before buying a brand new one. Every March the club is fortunate to have our good friend Lee Hemmingway's mobile shop visit the club where players can purchase hockey equipment such as shoes, inners, grips, sticks, shin guards, mouth guards etc. This date will be advertised on our website and social media pages towards the end of February 2023.

**Games are played at 8am. Players turn up at 7.45am so they have time to warm up.
There are no finals or a competition for the U9, just a friendly game each week.
